USB mouse is not responding

Last Updated: June 8, 2016

BrightSign players work with many different brands of USB mice. Mice can be used with both interactive playlists and HTML presentations in BrightAuthor.

To use a mouse with an interactive playlist, you must use an Interactive Touch event in BrightAuthor. If the mouse cursor does not appear in the presentation, go to File > Presentation Properties > Interactive and change the Cursor option to Always display cursor (with the Auto display cursor option, the cursor will only appear if there's more than one region in an Interactive Touch event).

To use a mouse with an HTML presentation, open the HTML5 state and check the Enable Mouse and Touch Events box. You can also check Display Cursor if desired.

If the mouse is still not responding, try the following:

  1. Unplug the mouse from player and reconnect it.
  2. If you’re using a wireless mouse, reconnect the wireless transmitter and replace the batteries in the mouse.
  3. Connect your mouse to the player using a USB hub.

I connected a mouse to my XD1132 and followed the settings above but I am still unable to see my cursor or navigate around the HTML5 page with my mouse. I tried 2 different types of mouse and both do not work. One is a lenovo wired mouse the other is a wireless Logitech keyboard/mouse combo.

I have many things that used to work and now they don't. You need to rule out the possibility that it is broken. Try it on a different computer as LH suggests. Try a different mouse on this computer. That is the standard way to research this type of problem when not working condition
