Can I display the date and time on screen using BrightAuthor?

Last Updated: May 5, 2016

Yes, you can use a Clock zone to display the time, or the date, on screen.

Under the Edit Tab, if you click Layout, you can add a Clock zone and position and resize it to fit on your screen. The Clock zone can be used for the date or time (by adding either the Time or Date state to the zone). You can add two Clock zones if you want to display both.

The Clock zone can be displayed in its own space or over a video. Image zone overlay is not supported, but you can add a Background Bitmap to the Clock zone by selecting Zone Properties and clicking the Advanced button. You can also place a Clock zone over a Background Image zone.  Please see the Multi-Zone Presentation tutorial for more information.

Note: If the unit does not have the correct the date and time (i.e. the clock is not set on the unit), then it will display the wrong date and time in the clock zone(s). To configure the clock on the unit, refer to this FAQ.

In my previews, there seems to be a black box on the top of the clock zone. Is there a way to fix this?
