Scheduling

Yes.

You can schedule content to play at different times of the day or different days of the week.

In order to support scheduling (day parting), the unit either needs a real time clock or needs to be connected to a network with a time server to set the date and time.  You can also manually set this clock for any players not connected to the network.

All currently shipping players have a real time clock.

For legacy players, the HD120 and HD810 have a real time clock.  These units are non network units.

The HD210w, HD1010, HD1010w, HD220, HD1020, XD230, XD1030 and XD1230 have networking and a real time clock.

The HD210  units manufactured since November 2010 have a real time clock. These units have a reset button next to the GPIO12 button, and they also have the letter F as the 3rd digit in the serial number. Any earlier HD210s would require a network with a time server to set and maintain the time. This also applies to the HD110 and HD410.

There is already Autorun.brs file in the SD card and the content seems to be very much different then the one from the ZIP file you sent..  if I replace the one from the zip will it cause any problems with what I have already?

What is the model of your brightsign player? Is it a networked unit? If so, does it have access to Internet?

    Please refer to this faq:

    http://support.brightsign.biz/entries/314324-How-do-I-set-the-Timezone-using-a-Script-

The instructions on how to setup the time and timezone are covered in the readme.txt file. You need to edit the autoplay.bsp file in text editor, copy 3 config files to BLANK SD card and power up the player with SD card.

Important note: when using the manual process, it can take up to 4 hours for the supercap, battery, to charge. So, after you power up the unit, and the date and time is set on the screen, you can't just pull the power and let it sit. It needs to be up for 4 hours to get a full charge out of the supercap. Then it can be up to a week without power and still maintain its date and time.

Once the time is set, you need to power the unit OFF, eject SD card, erase SD card, publish your presentation to a BLANK SD card, insert SD card in the HD220, and power it ON.

Forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question but I have a few 1010w units and have them networked to a dropbox folder. Does dropbox have a time server or would I have to set the time manually on all my 1010w units?

You specify the timeserver and timezone when you create setup files for the brightsign in BrightAuthor under Tools - Setup BrightSign unit (see attached). By default the units use our timeserver to synchronize the time http://time.brightsignnetwork.com

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I have a few 1010w units that are networked to a Dropbox folder. Does Dropbox have a time server, or do I have to manually set the time on all of my 1010w units? word hurdle

How long is the enough charging time? If it's too long, pizza tower will there be any problems? Because I really don't have experience in this part.

I appreciate the support of this site because it has given me the information to set the time schedule. And I want to provide something that those who have not yet bought a good outfit should try this Ottawa Senators Satin Jacket.
