Which quicktime (mov/mp4) file types do BrightSign players support?

having trouble getting a .mov to play on a XD232.  Seems to meet all requirements but just fails to even copy to the player (700+MB file).  Any thoughts here?

Please describe the steps you took in order to play a .mov file on XD232. If you get error during one of the steps, send a screenshot of the error.

How do I figure out what codec was used for my w=1080 x h=1920 portrait video? When I drag it to the playlist window, I get the message, "The resolution of the video file is not supported." It is a .mov file, but the properties do not show what codec it is.

Open it using QuickTime on a computer. Press Cmd/Ctrl-I to bring up the inspector. This will tell you what codec(s) are being used in the file.

So, my format: MPEG-4 Video, 1080 x 1920 Millions
It will not play on QT either. So it needs to be MPEG version 10 or higher?

Knowing that it's MPEG-4 is not enough. It needs to be H264 for the 1929x1080, or H.265 for the 4k players. But if QuickTime won't open it, then there's something seriously wrong with the file.

You an use a free program like mediainfo to get more details about the video file. But, I agree that if the file won't play on your computer, then that's another issue altogether. 

Additionally, when creating your brightauthor project, make sure the target model is a player that can support 1080x1920 playback. That would be HD2, XD and later. If you choose the LS422 or older HD220/HD1020, then brightauthor won't let you add a 1080x1920 video since those players don't support them. 

The video plays fine with Divx, WMP, VLC etc, here are the specs shown my AVInaptic,

Sorry, we are using XD2 units.

Bitstream type: MPEG-4 Part 2

THis is the important part. Mpeg4-part2 is not h.264. WE do not support mpeg4 part 2. H.264 is also know as mpeg4 part 10. That is the kind of mpeg4/mov files we support. And, as the other user said, for 4k units, we also support h.265.

So, the video needs to be re-encoded using h.264 (mpeg4-part10).
