Can I use a USB-to-Serial adapter to connect my BrightSign player to my PC/Mac?

Yes, you can use a USB-to-Serial adapter communicate with any BrightSign model that has a serial port:

  • Requires 3.5mm serial connector: XT1143, XD1033, HD1023
  • Requires DE-9 (more commonly referred to as DB-9) serial connector: 4K1142, 4K1042 ,XD1132, XD1032, HD1022, XD1230, XD1030, HD1020, HD1010 (USB adapters using the Prolific and FTDI chipsets have been tested and proven to work optimally)
