Do BrightSign players support streaming from an IP camera?

Streaming from IP cameras is supported on all networked BrightSign models.

In BrightAuthor, the Video Stream and Mjpeg Stream states are available in the Other tab in the Media Library section, . If you drag either onto your playlist, you'll be asked to set a state name and a URL for the streaming source. Please note that you should use the latest production versions of BrightAuthor and firmware for best results.

MJPEG Stream

The Mjpeg Stream widget can be added to an images zone or video/images zone. Mjpeg streams allow up to 5-7 frames per second, which is faster than static jpegs, but is not a smooth video. It also supports rotation: If you create a portrait or landscape presentation, you can orient the stream how you would like.

Video Stream

A Live Video state can be added to a Video zone or Video or Images zone. If your camera is located on the same LAN as the BrightSign unit, you will get the highest quality streaming. If your device is connected to an IP camera via the Internet, and the URL is something like www.customersecuritycamera.com, the video will be lossy and will drop packets frequently. Video streaming is most effective in an environment where you have control of the path between the camera source and the BrightSign player.

    I'm trying to get this camere http://www.lightinthebox.com/h-264-mega-pixel-ptz-wireless-ip-camera-support-720p-1280-720-video-code_p238084:fde6ca8a055f79a47b5d7220555ffbe5.html?litb_from=sysmail to work with my HD220 you can download the manual here http://ge.tt/7RZC5HT/v/0?c but whenever I add the url to the stream to my project as a video stream in a "video or images" zone and publish to the Brightsign, the player puts out nothing but black.  If I remove that stream, then all the other zones display correctly.  According to the manual the url is rtsp://192.168.158:554/11 for the first H.264 stream.  I confirmed it in VLC but it's no good in brightsign.  I'm hoping to install several of these cameras and several brightsign players at a client's facility but if I can't make this work with these 2 test units soon I'll have to look into other solutions. Please contact me as soon as possible.  Thank you!

    I have a requirement from customer that they want to add **FULL HD or HD **ip camera to one section of it,

    But I don't sure for that high video quality can be make done by BrightSign 

    (Ps. Ip camera ,I think we will choose  for Panasonic or Sony Brand )

    We currently have several AXIS 2100 cameras the following is the product manual.  It seems all the specs match up but can't get them to work.  I am using http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi? for the URL for video/Mjpeg stream with no luck.  Should i be looking into different settings?

    the mjpeg link  is support only link that end with ".MJPEG" ?

    Is it support the public mjpeg link like this  http://cam6284208.miemasu.net/snapshotJPEG?Resolution=640x480

    Is anyone using wire cast local rtsp feed with a BrightSigns box?

    We need to stream to a Brightsign XD series player on a LAN, from a PC running a Vario Systems Osprey 700e,  (http://www.ospreyvideo.com) which is a SD-SDI/HD-SDI  input streaming encoder card.  Ideally you would be able to support Windows Media, and  H.264, streaming at 30FPS full res if sufficient bandwidth is available on the incoming network. These would be good cards to support - they have shipped over 400K encoder cards worldwide in the last 18 years and are very common in the video production and streaming world.

    I've used Axis P1204 and Interlogix TruVision TVB-3101.  They both suppor RTSP and work well with BrightSign HD222.

    Is there an initial set up tutorial on how to get this going? I'm trying to configure my XT3 to stream video from a GoPro Hero 4. I know this box supports IP streaming, but I haven't seen anything on how to set this up.I have a few questions:

    1. I'm not sure if this camera is supported.
    2. I'm not if I'm supposed to use the video stream module or the Mpeg stream module?
    3. What am I supposed to use for URL to stream? I was trying the GoPro IP Address, but it doesn't seem to be correct.
    4. Anyone have setup details or a link you can post?

    Nate,

    Do GoPro Cameras support RTSP streaming?  If yes, the next step is to find out what URL a GoPro would be on.  Use VLC to test, then once you have it working, try on BS.  See the above example url.

    They say they do, but I haven't had any luck connecting to it. I'm trying a Logitech pro web camera now to see if that works.

    I'm trying a Logitech camera now. I used the following page to help connect. https://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=Logitech# but am still running into the same issue. Is there a step by step I can follow to get this working?

    The screenshot is of the preview in BA, which is normal.  I assume your display is not showing the stream either.  

    Test it with VLC first.  If you can get the stream to show in VLC, it should work on the BS.

    I keep getting the same error with the VLC player.

    Your input can't be opened:

    VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://152.116.2.150/video.mjpg?q=30&fps=33&id=0.5'. Check the log for details.

    I've been checking the logs to see what the issue is. I've Googled several sites that give advice on how to fix this.

    • I used this website to generate my IP url. https://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=Logitech
    • I've updated my player to the most recent version.
    • It sounds like it might be a firewall issue, but am not able to do much with that at work.

     Is there a how to anywhere for this I can maybe go through? It's my first time trying to connect to a camera so it would be helpful if there's a tutorial I can follow somewhere.

    I'm using a Logitech C920 web cam.

    That camera is prob not supported.  I've only ever used security cameras, not web cams.
