    You can modify the password used for the diag server either during setup on the unit  itself, or by using brightauthor setup files.

    If you want to start over with unit setup, you can log into the player, delete the autorun.brs from the sd card, and go to Control, factory reset...that will wipe the units registry clean, and get you back to initial setup.

    Currently, we are installing a BSNEE with 150 players. The device set up is exactly the same for all the players but we're finding that a few of them are asking for credentials when in the device set up, they were not configured ... why are we seeing this behaviour? Why a few of them are asking for credential when the initial set up didn't have any credential?

    Any help will be very welcome.

    To not let that question unanswered... I found a way that seems to work:

    dwsSetup = CreateObject("roAssociativeArray")
    dwsSetup.AddReplace("basic", True)
    netConf.SetupDWS(dwsSetup)

    You specify the password for the diagnostic web server when creating setup files in BrightAuthor software (Tools - Setup BrightSign unit). The username is admin by default.

    Use the embed URL and add ?autoplay=1 at the end to have it automatically start playback.

    If it already has parameters in the URL, add &autoplay=1 to the end instead.

    Hi

    It seems like the activation of the dws from a script initially uses a password now. And the password is not changeable via the registry. Did anything change lately? I tried on a XT243 with firmware 6.2.38 and followed the steps from http://docs.brightsign.biz/display/DOC/Diagnostic+Web+Server -> ADVANCED SETUP. I remember that worked well in the past on other devices.

    Thanks!

    @Lyndon: Thanks for your reply. Note that I know how that usually works, as mentioned, but it seems that something has changed... My goal is to have an unprotected DWS using BrightScript. Until now it worked by using:

    networkRegistry = createObject("roRegistrySection", "networking")
    networkRegistry.write("http_server", "80")

    But at the moment, this method creates a default password using the serial number.

    On top of that, it looked like the suggested method to change the password by editing the network registries http_auth doesn't help either...

    Any idea?
