How do I display a Google Calendar on a BrightSign player using BrightAuthor?

Yes, you can display a Google Calendar as an HTML page. In order to display a Google calendar on a player in full-screen mode(1920x1080), you will need to make your Google calendar Public:

Click the arrow next to the My Calendars list on the left. Select Settings.
Locate the calendar you wish to display on your player. In the sharing column on the right, click Share this calendar.
Check the Make this calendar public box and click Save.
When you've returned to the Calendar Settings page, click the Calendar name to bring up the Details page.
Copy the URL in the Embed this Calendar section.
In BrightAuthor, paste the URL into the URL field when creating or editing an HTML5 state.

We suggest refreshing the page by adding Timeout event of 30 seconds to the HTML state. This will ensure that changes will be displayed within an acceptable time.

For anyone it might help: the solution for me was to remove "amp;" from the end of each attribute and leave just the & symbol and you will also only need the url inside the first set of quotes.

Basically, BrightSign only needs the ampersand (&) character between each attribute and not the HTML symbol entity that represents the & symbol, which is what Google cal is putting out (&) between each attribute, so in the above embed code, you would need:

https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?showTitle=0&showNav=0&showDate=0&showPrint=0&showTabs=0&showCalendars=0&showTz=0&mode=AGENDA&height=400&wkst=1&bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&src=khcmaintenance%40gmail.com&color=%231B887A&ctz=America%2FEdmonton

That should work.

Sidenote: I did look at my code a little closer and actually, I did leave in all the & codes after the src attribute and it seems to work fine, so maybe BrightSign only has a prob with them if they occur at the beginning or maybe it is only certain attributes that break it.

When I follow those steps I get the attached error. When I try to use a URL supplied by Google I get a white background with a scroll bar but nothing on the screen.

This still works for me .You may want to submit a ticket and provide the URL that's you're using that causes this error.

Hello Support

We are trying to embed a calendar into a presentation with Google Calendar.

In Bright Author we get an error - (Version 4.3.0.16)

This is the code from Google Calendar -
