The following table illustrates what 4K color spaces and bit depths are supported over HDMI output. Note that these video profiles are separate from the color-space and bit-depth values you specify when encoding the video. The video quality is determined by the lesser of these two video profiles.
Resolution |
8 Bit |
10 Bit |
12 Bit |
4Kp24 |
4:4:4 (RGB)* |
4:4:4 (RGB) |
4:4:4 (RGB) |
4Kp50 |
4:4:4 (RGB) |
4:2:0 |
4:2:2 |
*This is the only 4K video profile supported over HDMI 1.4; all other profiles require a display with HDMI 2.0 support.
You can set 4K video output to 10-bit 4:2:0 when creating a new BrightAuthor presentation (in the New Project window). The bit depth and color space is also fully customizable using the roVideoMode.SetMode() method in BrightScript
