How do I play a Powerpoint presentation?

Is there an update to this add-in?  This add-in is not very useful if you have 10 or more slides.  The reason is that the slideshow will play Slide1, Slide10, Slide11.....Slide2, Slide20, Slide21, etc.  If the export could be 2 digit numbers (Slide01, Slide02, etc) then it would be very useful, up to 99 slides.  Thanks.

I continue to use jpg as well.  The fact of using .jpgs doen't have anything to do with being able to export slides as Slide01, Slide02, instead of exporting slides as Slide1, Slide2.  My question has to do with naming the file during the export process, not exporting to something other than .jpg.  Please read my previous post again to understand what I am asking.

You say "export your presentation to bitmap or jpeg images" but I can only seem to export as jpeg. For performance and quality I prefer to use BMP images; can I export as BMP?

BTW I agree with Boyd about numbering -- Slide01 would be better.

You can convert jpeg to bmp easily. There are tools available on web to do powerpoint -> bitmap export.

I found the following procedure to produce OK results: in PP I setup page size to be faily large (f.i. 112 x 72 cm for a 16:9 page). After that I "save as" to bmp-files. These show good quality and are larger then 1920x1080, so I resize them in image editing software. Resulting HD files look very good when viewed on a computer, but only reasonable when used full screen using a brightsign player and a HD-screen through HDMI.

So what last bit needs to be done to get it right through Brightsign?

I am successfully using PowerPoint for my BrightSign presentations, as follows:

Set up PowerPoint to be exactly 1920x1080; in Europe that's 50.8cm x 28.58cm. Your name suggests you're also a cloggie (:-).

Save as PNG from PowerPoint. Don't use the BrightSign tool.

Convert to JPG using a quality setting of 90 (I use FastStone which has a batch function)

I play with an HD1020 onto an ELO 22" monitor and the quality is just fine.

Are you sure your images are exactly 1920x1080?

The best way we have found to handle PowerPoint is through a macro or add-in.  We have clients export from PowerPoint by using a custom macro we developed that exports the slides at the correct size and format, to the correct location, and fixes the file naming to use the PowerPoint name along with a leading zero in the numbering (Project1_Slide01.png).  When completed it opens up the folder in explorer so they can then open the BA project for the next step.  By using this approach, exporting from PowerPoint can be a two click operation, instead of many steps.

The PNG file format is preferred, since it is lossless and doesn't contain the compression artifacts you will see with JPG.

One issue you may run in to is inconsistent pixel dimensions when using the default "save all slides" in PowerPoint - different versions of PowerPoint export at different DPI settings (and some versions rely on the DPI setting of Windows) - so comparing page size settings depends heavily on the version used.

Make sure you are using a good power point application like the Microsoft office. They provide the best methods and features for your application. There are many things to consider here such as the use of simplicity and quality of the content.

Capture the Powerpoint with an Blackmagic Capture Card. It is an AVI File. Very good quality. Then encode it to an MP4 or what you want. All effects 1:1. Take´s a little time, but it works.

You can double click on an image in BrightAuthor presentation and select a transition.

Yeah found out that that version of Author I had was missing the transition settings in Image List.  Updated and now I'm all good. Thanks

When i convert my powerpoint presentation to mpeg the sound is lost and the transition of the test for the slides are lost. Do you have any way of providing assistance for this.
