Can I use the Live Text feature in a Ticker zone?

No. You can add a Live Text state to an interactive playlist in a Video Only, Video or Images, or Images zone only. There are no limits to the number of Images zones you can have in your presentation.

To display text in a space, add an Images zone, make it interactive, then drag a Live Text object onto it.
