How do I switch presentations or change layouts in BrightAuthor?

I am glad that this is possible. however I am confused by point number 4. 

Where does the name of the presentation come from?  Is it coming from the autoplay xml file for each presentation?

When you save a project on your computer, the <project name>.bpf file is created.

<project name> is what you need to type in the Parameters field.

I have several presentations set up and have a control zone with all the listen for UDP etc.  Upon receipt of a UDP message I have the control zone switch to another event, and there are two commands listed.  The first is a zone message just for diagnostics and it is operating correctly.  I can see the message in the logs.  However my switch presentation command doesn't seem to be doing anything.

My reading of the logs shows that it changes to the new section of the control zone and sends the zone message, but I don't see anything to switch presentations.  Also, when I publish the default presentation, I see it copy the graphics that are in that list, but never see it copy any of the other graphics to the simple networking directory.  What else do you need to help resolve this issue?

I did upload the two files that I am testing with.

"Switch to presentation" command is attached to the home state of the FNTN-CARDS-TEST.bpf project (Audio zone). It means that FNTN-CARDS-TEST.bpf should not even start playing because it's supposed to switch to FNTN-DEFAULT-TEST.bpf.

However, in the FNTN-DEFAULT-TEST.bpf the presentation name in the "Switch to Presentation" command (that's attached to the home state) corresponds to the name of the project.

I think you need to deal with your Switch to Presentation commands in these 2 projects, and figure out what project you want to switch and when.

I would recommend to remove the "Switch to Presentation" commands from the home states, and add them either to UDP events or different Event Handlers that are in the Audio zone.

I managed to switch from one zone presentation to a multlizone presentation, however the multizone presentation loops itself once it's finished and does not go back to the first presentation, i would like to know if there's a way to timeout the switch presentation so it goes back to the first one after a previously set time.

I am seeing the exact same, i want to loop between 2 presentations, 1 multizone and one fullscreen.

i think i may have an answer,

Setup 2 projects - Project 1 = Multizone, Project 2= Fullscreen. follow the above instructions as to adding the projects

in project one you need to switch to presentation - project 2 and then in project 2 you need to setup a switch to presentation - project 1, thereby creating a loop. Specify the timeout to set how long you would like each project to display. Hope this helps.

How do we schedule presentations that switch to another presentation using BrightSign Network?  For example:

We have a menu board with multi-zone layout

We have an "ad" screen with full screen layout

After 300 seconds on menu board we want to jump to the full screen ad layout.  The ad has an MRSS feed using a Dynamic Playlist.  When Media End on the MRSS it should switch back to the zoned presentation.

We can publish a schedule with the zoned presentation, but how do we link the full screen ad presentation to the Group on BrightSign Network?

I'm probably doing something wrong; but I can"t seem to get my advanced commands working. I want to switch after a few seconds (so I use the timeout command) from a full screen to that same full screen but with a PIP, so a second zone with live input (xd1230). I tried by switching presentations and by hiding:showing zone, but that doesn't work. Am I forgetting something?

I realize that this thread is a few months old now, so perhaps this has moved in the current version (4.6.0.36), but not seeing "Switch Presentation" under the Other commands. Is there a new best practices version for switching presentations?

Could you post a screenshot of what you have listed in the "OTHER" dropdown menu on the advanced tab that is not showing the "Switch Presentations" item.

Switch Presentations only shows on an interactive event... what type of event is this? (won’t work on just an enter/exit state). Try on a timeout event... does it show there?

That does it! I was in interactive mode but was trying to assign it to an even handler, when I go to a timeout event the option to switch presentations appears. Thank you!

I'm looking for a means to deselect one presentation on my BS's microSD card and select another.  Example: I loaded an initial presentation, loading the project and all related files on the the microSD; I make a bunch of changes, mostly content but perhaps timing or zone dimensions, save them under a new but similar name (V1 becomes V2), and then use the Network File method to publish my changes....yet the original project continues to run.  What I kind of expected is that in the HTML menu there would be some way to select which .BPF file was active, or maybe in the Files/Presentation Properties menu that there would be something like that....even that I would hve to delete or over-write the .BPF on the microSD.  I'm not seeing any of those and the only way I've found to make a change is to erase the entire contents of the microSD and publish a singular .BPF to it.

Perhaps I'm looking under the wrong thread for "switching presentations" because it does seem to be addressing how to link interactive presentations together....could you refer me to a more appropriate thread or document?

Our idea is to just do a simple looped playlist but also cache one separate piece media and trigger that file to play from our server (not on the LAN).  I can see how this might be accomplished by using the Media Properties > Advanced > Other commands > Show/Hide zone, but is there a tried and true way of doing this? also what is the method to send these commands?... custom plugin? UDP?

We are just getting familiar with BrightAuthor but I would have to believe that the engineers at BS would have built a method for this already.

How do I switch presentations while keeping them in a specific zone? Currently, when I use the switch presentation feature, it plays it full screen (portrait mode) over all of the other zones designated. Is there a way to tell it to play only within a specific zone?

Can the UDP input events switch to a presentation even if no presentation is scheduled at the time? 

I have three presentations (all written the same) with a different video inserted for each presentation.  These are scheduled to play throughout the day. If i wanted to interrupt my schedule with a UDP message from another device, to playback a specific video/presentation, will the command be accepted? 

In other words, if the presentation is scheduled for 12:00pm and i send a message at 11:00am, will the presentation run even though i have no presentation scheduled at 11am? 

I am sending entry and exit commands via UDP to a cue server lighting controller, to raise and lower the lights.  I'd like to utilize the buttons on the cue server's front panel to send UDP commands to my BrightSign to launch specific presentations on demand. 

I have 2 presentations, the kiosk_PhoneDir and the kios_SignIn. Each has a touch zone 4 that supposes to switch to the other presentation when touched via the Event. If I run each presentation separately, they run fine but the switching just gave me a blank screen? Thank You.
