How do I add a Flickr Photostream to my BrightAuthor playlist?

Last Updated: October 23, 2015

You can easily add a Flickr Photostream to your BrightAuthor playlist using a Media RSS (MRSS)  state.

Note: Flickr Albums are not currently supported.

Finding the MRSS URL for Your Photostream

The BrightAuthor MRSS state requires that you know the URL of your Flickr MRSS feed. Follow these steps to find it:

  1. Go to the Photostream page of your Flickr account.
  2. Copy the URL of your Photostream page (e.g. "https://www.flickr.com/photos/XXXXXXX/")
  3. Go to this page: http://idgettr.com/.
  4. Paste the URL of your Photostream page into the field and click Find. The page will return your id below
  5. Replace "XXXXXX" in the following URL with your id. This is the URL for your Photostream MRSS feed.

http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?id=XXXXXX&lang=en-us&format=rss_200

Adding a MRSS State to Your BrightAuthor Presentation

  1. In BrightAuthor, navigate to the Edit > Playlist.
  2. Click the Other tab under Media Library.
  3. Drag and drop the Media RSS Feed icon into your playlist. This will open the RSS Feed window.
  4. Select Add Data Feed.
  5. Enter a Feed Name.
  6. Under Feed Specification, select Url and enter the URL for your Photostream MRSS feed.
  7. Under Data feed content usage, select MRSS Feed.
  8. Enter an Update Interval to determine how frequently the player should check the Photostream MRSS feed for updates.
  9. Click Validate to ensure that you entered the feed URL correctly, then click OK.

So this worked fine and i now have my photostream linked into my presentation.  This is great for having your images always fresh and other users can add to the stream, but the thing that it seems to lack over just adding the pics into an image list is that I cannot seem to get the images to "fade to new image" as you can with an image playlist.  Is there anyway to neaten this up?  The hard switch from image to image seems a little harsh.

This is working amazingly for me, but I cannot figure out how to set a delay on switching to the next image?

Did anyone ever figure out how to change the transition feed and / or the transition effect when using the MRSS feed from Flicker Photo Stream?

So quick question ! In my case, when i add the URL everything's fine. But when it comes to publish, there's a new message " Publish error" ?!
Does anyone know something about that ?
Cause I followed perfectly the tuto !
    Thanks for your answers.
