We previously had a HD410 set up to accept serial input from a bar code reader to play one of several image files. The Brightsign unit died on us. I purchased a HD1023 to replace it but I am having no luck getting it to accept serial inputs. I currently have just two images to experiment with. A "home" image and one to switch to. I have the serial input event linking the two in Brightauthor set up with the wildcard characters to allow any serial command to switch it but no luck. I am obviously missing something but for the life of me I can't figure out what.

Bright Scripters Elton,
Are you using the 3.5mm stereo jack for serial, or is it a USB to RS232 adapter that you are using?
Please provide info about the barcode reader model, and model of USB to RS232, if used.

Elton Prater It is a Honeywell MS7625 (serial version). I am using the 3.5mm input adapted from the RS 232.

Bright Scripters Make sure that your baud rate settings are the same in three places: The scanner, the converter to 3.5, and in BrightAuthor.
There is also a chance that you would need to reverse the RS232 Rx <-> Tx somewhere in that chain.
