Is it possible to run a bright sign connected to both an elo touchscreen for control and an HDTV via HDMI as a display. We are wanting to create a kiosk using the brightsign as the controller and a touchscreen for patron input.
The brightsign would display the same content to both displays. Both HDMI and component are active at the same time.

Is there a reason why the touchscreen would display a red image from the BrightSign but still have the capibility to display other colors on the menu?

If you switch to VGA mode, then component and hdmi aren't active. When using component and hdmi output, the vga is still active but the brightsign isn't outputting a standard vga signal.
If you want to use two component screens, you can build a VGA to Component adapter using the following pinout:
Pin 1 = Y
Pin 2 = Pb
Pin 3 = Pr
Pin 6, 7, 8 = Ground
Or, you could connet hdmi to one screen, and component to another.
To use vga you would need a converter to adapt the 720 or 1080 signal to vga.
connecting the componet cable to the brightsign and the VGA to the touchscreen?

That looks like a vga to component cable. That would work if your touchscreen had component input. You'd need a component to vga adapter to got he other way.

Im not sure why the cable would not work in reverse, however I did find hardware similar to this would it work for our situation? also my supervisor is worried that we will loose or jepordize the video quality on the touchscreen. Is this so?
