New Production Firmware and BrightAuthor Available

Production versions of 6.2 firmware and 4.6 BrightAuthor are now available on the Software Downloads page. BrightSign Network 4.4 has also gone live.

Firmware Version 6.2.39

This version is available for new Series 3 models only: XTx43, XDx33, HDx23, and LS423.

BrightAuthor Version 4.6.0.5

Minimum Player Firmware Required: 6.2.39 (XTx43, XDx33, HDx23, LS423) / 5.1.33 (4Kx42, XDx32, XDx30, HDx22, HDx20, LSx22)

This version supports the new Series 3 models, along with previous hardware models. It includes the new Mosaic Mode feature, which allows you to display numerous small video files/streams instead of one or two large videos. This version allows you to create BSN Tagged Playlists and generate player tags. You can also use this version to set up players for BLE beaconing applications.

BrightSign Network 4.4/4.3

BrightSign Network version 4.4 went live earlier this week and featured these changes:

• Single user account model: If you belong to multiple BSN accounts (now referred to as “networks”), you now have a single set of credentials for all your networks. When logging in, you can choose which network to sign in to using a dropdown list.
• New Network Setup: When creating a new BSN network, you are now given the opportunity to bulk add users, content, and players to the network. For bulk adding players, you can use the new BDeploy feature: Enter the serial number of each player you wish to add to your network; then, when the players are connected to the Internet right out of the box, they will perform device setup and connect to your network automatically.

BrightSign Network version 4.3 went live at the end of July and featured the BSN Tagging feature. This feature allows you to add customizable tags to media files and players. You can then use these tags to generate playlists automatically according to media tags and filter media playback according to player tags.
