New FAQ: Preventing Read Fatigue

If you use BrightSign players to display an “attract” video loop (i.e. a short video that plays continuously all day, every day), you might run into a problem with SD cards known as read fatigue. This problem is caused by the fact that many SD cards are built for digital cameras, not digital signs. In other words, they are made to handle a large number of writes, not a large number of reads, over a small space of the card.

In a previous tech note, we covered how to prevent read fatigue by using SD cards that are purpose built for digital signage applications. In this new FAQ, we detail a simple video file editing technique that will greatly reduce the frequency of read fatigue, no matter what kind of SD card you are using.
