There are new Beta versions of BrightSign firmware and BrightAuthor software available on the Software Downloads page. The firmware download section is located below the BrightAuthor download section; scroll further down the page to find everything you need.
The following is a short summary of each update. For a more comprehensive list of new features, improvements, and bug fixes, please view the release notes, which are located on the Software Downloads page and contained in each .zip download file.
The BrightAuthor User Guide 3.5 and the Object Reference Manual have also been updated to reflect important changes and additions to the software.
BrightAuthor Version 3.5.0.31
This is the new localization version of BrightAuthor. It has up-to-date language support for the following: Chinese (simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish.
This version also has several bug fixes and improvements, such as password protection for USB content updates and the new Stop Playback feature for Event Handler states.
Firmware Version 4.4.75
This firmware update is intended for the following BrightSign models:
- XD230
- XD1030
- XD1230
- HD120
- HD220
- HD1020
Note that the update files for XD and HD players are different. Make sure to use the download link that corresponds to your player model.
Both XD and HD updates have support for EDID capabilities and Big5 RSS encoding, along with numerous other bug fixes.
The XD firmware update includes new channel scanning features for the ATSC / Clear QAM tuner on the XD1230. Currently, this feature is only available in custom scripts; a BrightAuthor release with a channel scanning component will be available soon. This update also includes important fixes for XD WiFi and the HTML5 engine.
Firmware Version 3.10.40
This firmware update is intended for the following BrightSign models:
- HD110
- HD210
- HD1010
- HD410
- HD810
This update includes bug fixes for Acer touch screens, as well as improvements to animated ticker zones.
