Firmware 6.0 and BrightAuthor 4.3 Available

Beta versions of the new 6.0 firmware and 4.3 BrightAuthor are now available on the Software Downloads page.

Firmware Version 6.0.9 (Beta)

Firmware 6.0 includes the new Chromium HTML web-rendering engine. All presentations with HTML animations and transforms, including gesture-based content, should show remarkable improvements with this build. This update also includes full support for the WebGL language.

This beta version of the new HTML rendering engine currently has a number of limitations. Note the following:

• HTML <video> elements that have HWZ disabled do not render properly.
• Enhanced Synchronization and alpha blending for HTML <video> elements is currently broken.
• The application cache and manifest are currently broken.
• Proxy settings are currently ignored.

Firmware 6.0 features a large set of non-HTML improvements and fixes as well. For a comprehensive list, see the release notes located next to the Download Now button (they are also included in the .zip file).

BrightAuthor Version 4.3.0.3 (Beta)

Minimum Player Firmware Required: 5.1.33 (4Kx42, XDx32, XDx30, HDx20, LSx22) / 5.1.16 (HDx22)

BrightAuthor 4.3 features 4K image support for 4Kx42 players. This version also gives you the ability to navigate among file folders in the Media Library.
