New Beta Firmware and BrightAuthor Available

New beta versions of 6.0 firmware and 4.3 BrightAuthor are now available on the Software Downloads page.

Firmware Version 6.0.20 (Beta)

Version 6.0.20 provides fixes for many of the HTML features that were not functional in the 6.0.9 release, including the following:

  • HTML <video> elements that have HWZ disabled
  • Alpha blending for HTML <video> elements
  • The HTML application cache and manifest
  • Proxy settings for HTML content

This version also fixes HTML video that uses WebGL or CSS opacity intimations. The rendering speed for many carousel-style pages has also been improved.

BrightAuthor Version 4.3.0.6 (Beta)

Minimum Player Firmware Required: 5.1.33 (4Kx42, XDx32, XDx30, HDx20, LSx22) / 5.1.16 (HDx22)

This version of BrightAuthor includes support for .aac and .m4a audio files. It also fixes the problem that previous 4.3/4.1.1 versions exhibited with opening projects that were exported from BrightAuthor 3.5.0.36.

    Is the transparency bug fixed in this version? since the 6.0.9 fw transparency is not working any more.

    You can check in release notes. What is the model of your BrightSign player? Do you have opportunity to update the firmware on the player and test the presentation?

    A new "feature" that I've noticed that I don't see documented anywhere, forgive me if I'm just bad at searching, is that Cross Origin Requests are no longer allowed via AJAX, is this intended?

    Gord - is Enable external data checked/ticked in the HTML5 state?

    Yes, I rolled back to 5.1.62 and all works fine, with 6.0.20 i'm getting "No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource."
