BrightWall Error Uploading

Is there a file size or any other limitations to a BrightWall setup on a local network?

I have no problem with smaller size videos, but I keep getting this error with with a 1 hour loop (largest file is 2.11 GB - players all have 16 GB cards in them).

Error uploading file Screen 1 Long.mp4 to the BrightSign

File size is the only thing that makes sense, but it would be nice to know what the limitations are. I thought the only limitation was 4GB file size (FAT 32).

Using BA v4.4.0,15 on HD1020's with v6.1.76

If anyone knows, please let me know. Otherwise I have to make a bunch of test files to see what size hits the limit with the error.

Very frustrating as I just went through several hours of rendering, just to have this fail with the larger file size.

I just tried loading all the cards separately (local storage), and they seem to be playing fine that way.

So I don't know what the issue is with doing this over local network, as it should work that way as well.

Is the eventlog.txt file showing anything useful? It can be found at:

C:\Users\[name of your user]\AppData\Local\BrightSign\BrightAuthor\[current BA version]

If you exit BA, copy the file before reopening BA, as the log gets overwritten at launch.

Ok, that helps some. Thank you, I forget about that file.

    This is what is there:

Error uploading file Screen 1 Long.mp4 to the BrightSign
Exception is: System.OutOfMemoryException: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

Except that the Desktop that I am using has 32GB of memory, and typically only uses about 8GB or so, so there is plenty of System Memory available.

That OutOfMemory error is one of the symptoms of LFN username/password publishing bug that exists prior to BA 4.6
You can either upgrade to BA 4.6 or try reconfiguring the player without username/password on the Local Web Server.

Well, since I am running all HDx20 series players, it is my understanding that BA v4.4.0.15 is the most recent version that I can run for those players, and that I can not run BA 4.6 with them.

I will try setting up without the username/password for the local web server, and see how that works.

    Thank you.

For the HD1020, and newer players you can use brightauthor 4.6.0.8. The mininum firmware release in 5.1.x although recommended firmware is 6.1.76 for that ba release on the older players. If you have antivirus software installed, one other thing to check is if there's any heuristic scanning enabled. Sometimes, when the antivirus is set to scan for 'suspicious" activity, it will interfere with transfers. While not common, I've seen transfers start and then fail partway through the transfer due to antivirus settings.
