Play videos directly from USB-stick

Hi,

i've been looking for a long time about my problem with no results.

I have a big brightauthor project with lots of udp commands from an custom design webpage. All looks fine.

What i want is to store videofiles on local usb-stick in my xd1033 with predefined filenames like 01_video.mp4, 02_video.... and play it with udp-commands from app/website with the use of media-end events. So the customer has the possibility to store new videofiles with the same filename on it to play.

I tried with Video Stream and location USB1: wont work. I tried with HTML5 but there is no way for Mediaend-event.

Any reasons for my problem.

Many thanks!
Erwin

Is the list of files fixed that the customer can choose from? That is, will the customer always be replacing the same file names?

Hi! Any news on the subject?

(I'm also working on a similar project, with video files to be replaced by non-BA-users, locally on the SD-card, in my case I have a GPIO trigger switching from HDMI-IN to playing video-files.)

Right now, I'm using BSN (with Dynamic playlist), which in fact are user-friendly, but it is quite time consuming to first upload the Big Video-file to BSN then for the BS-unit to download it, while sitting just next to the unit. Not mentioning the available bandwidth that sometimes (read always) is slow!

Any update on this? I'm frequently asked by clients if they can update their own content. I can easily show them how to convert it to play back on BrightSign. Where I get stuck is how to make the presentation pull the videos from the USB drive.

Bumping this - also looking for the same feature but have yet to find anything. Just need a simple way to update the files on an SD card from an inserted USB drive, as the OP states. Or even updating a playlist, but the individual filenames would be fine too. Any joy anyone?
