corrupted video's?

I have 2 stand alone HD 223 Brightsign units who has been working flawlessly for the past 6 months but out of nowhere of both of the devices the video's started to glitch one after another in a week's notice.

The glitches look like as if the antenna reception is bad.. (see picture)

the project has 2 video's from which 1 video loops and the 2nd video is triggered by GPIO and goes back to main video after that video stops.

I have republished the exact same project back into the microSD card after formatting it and the glitches were gone.

What is causing this problem and how can i prevent this from happening again in the future? I'm using class 10 microSD cards

Sounds like hardware failure. Either faulty SD card or something with the player.

Is there enough air flow for the player to release heat?

Have you tried a different microSD?

I would also minimize writing to the microSD during operation, such as screenshots, and logs.

The airflow of the devices are good. Enough space for ventilation to occur.

The SD cards could be the problem but i find it strange that it only occurs after 6 months..

I tried it aswell with a different microSD card too which didnt give any problem however after i formatted the first card it looked like that cured it. The real question is if it will now occur after 6 months again. So i guess I'll have to wait to see if it occurs again.

Screenshots was already turned off however I will see if the logs section help with this aswell.

    Thanks for the quick response!

We have the same problem. It is as if the device devours the video files, the size of the file content on the SD-card deminishes. We have more the 100 devices, with the same type of SD-card that work well, and about 20 that have the problem. The content of these 20 is deliverd by the same party, so it feels like that is the problem, only we can't see anything wrong with the videos they deliver us.

What is the publishing method? Are you using BSN, or other internet dependent method?

We set the Brightsign players up totally independent, we publish directly to an SD-card.

    That's important info.

Were the SD cards purchased from BrightSign?

You don't have to buy SD cards from BrightSign, but cards can be of different qualities...
