Unable to access a BrightSign at that ip address - LS423

Hi,

I've been trying to "reach" my LS423 for over a week now, here is what I've done to test so far:

1- I tried on 2 different networks, one Corporative one that is highly secured and another one that is just like an home network, same result, can't reach the device

2- I tried to Update BrightAuthor to the latest version: 4.7.0.8 - Same result

3- I am able to ping the Device in Windows without any issue

4- The latest firmware is in the Device: 7.0.19

5 - I tried with 2 different LS423 and they both do the same thing

6 - Tried with 3 different micro SD card - Same result

7 - I tried to install the Bonjour for Windows (may not be the right one I found on Apple) but same result

I would say, it was working fine about 6 months ago but had to work on other projects so I've put aside the devices and now I can't do anything except connect them in standalone and put pictures on the SD card, witch is not the way we want to use them...

Any other things I probably forgot to test?

Thank you very much.

Have a great day.

If you set up the player with enabled Diagnostics Web Server, can you load the web page?

    Hi,

Sorry I forgot to mention that Yes I am able to load the web page when Enable Diagnostic web server is enabled.

    Thank you.

In a secured environment, Bonjour may or may not work.

Have you tried adding the player to BA by its IP address?

If that doesn't work, you could try and start over, by doing a factory reset, and set up the player again for Local File Networking.

I am not able to add it with Bright Author, it says there are no device associated to this IP address.

Regarding the factory reset, I tried with both devices I had on hand.

Same thing for both of them on the 2 different networks I tried.

Yet the only thing I did not try is to test with a Windows 7.

Both computers on both different networks are in Win10.

    Could this be the issue?

    Thank you.

We have not experienced issues with Win 10.

It is possible that some TCP ports are blocked, while 80 is available.

Can you try at a lab environment? Meaning: a laptop, and player, connected to a switch isolated from the corporate network.

You would need to set static IP, or use a local DHCP that you have control of. Bonjour may work, but I cannot say for sure.

After the factory reset did you configure the player for Local File Networking again?
It *must* be configured for LFN in order to add it to the Networked Units list in the Local Network Publish view.

    Wow, wow, wow.

Guys, sorry for all of that, I did a rookie mistake

    An image speaks by itself.

Sorry for all the trouble, but it may help someone else.

Thank you for you time on this case.

    Have a great day.

I have the same problem, but I have them at Networked with Local File Networking and still have the problem. It was working fine a few days ago, but after sending a video to the player, it reseted and changed to DHCP by itself and after a hard time I managed to get control of the HD223 but still I can't load videos because I can only access it via web and not via BA. The problem is that the player is in Florida and I'm in Puerto Rico... Not good for me because I was the one that suggested my customer to migrate from another platform to this one...

This is the log file I got after giving a factory reset and loading manually a few files on the root.
