Several of our presentations are changed everyday with a set of new names. Each names is on its own slide and each name slide is a part of a bigger presentation. I am wondering if there is a way to change the name slides without having to republish the entire presentation?

Your current set up is unclear to me. Would help if you posted visuals to look at.
Hello - Currently we create jpeg's with a person name and where they are from. Here is a picture. Depending on how many people are coming to visit for the day, we could have multiple slides with names on them. It would be great to edit a text file and that text file gets read to populate the presentation. Thanks.

You could use a generic background image (without names), and use BrightAuthor Live Text to place names over the image.

The Live Text can then be fed from RSS feed, so names can be scheduled ahead of time, based on coming events.
