Hello Everyone.
I am a new user with a small implementation of 10 units. I have been running through setup with BA: Connected but have come across some issues that are stumping me. I also believe that I am troubleshooting multiple issues and I will post these separately. Please forgive some of the more obvious questions
- system is setup with Local Networking
- using Control Cloud
- all BS units are in the most recent firmware and software is up to date
- We are using the Device Setup Library and Device Provisioning to setup the individual units.
Scheduling a Presentation
1) When adding a new Networked Unit and credentials for a unit
- Please confirm that the credentials the Local Web Server Credentials.
2) Are the networked units supposed to remember the credentials that are inputted when adding a unit or are they supposed to ask for them each time BA is opened?
These next two are system breaking issues I am troubleshooting and are causing me “much” frustration…
3) I often have Network Units fail to connect and cannot publish schedules and presentations to BS units.
- When it does this the gear icon is grayed out and I cannot access the settings.
- Sometime I can access the trash can to remove it and other times it too is grayed out.
- When this happens, I can refresh the screen and access the trash can although no connection is made
4) Some units fail to show up in the Networked Units dialogue box at all.
- These units appear on the Network tab without issue and can be access via the Remote DWS or local DW.
- When I try to add the unit by IP address it provides a “This BrightSign is already in the list of Brightsigns.” notice and provides an option to export log (https://stmichaelscollege-my.sharepoint.com/:t:/g/personal/cline_smcsmail_com/EVdLJd7VKw1Lshnl1iLqBe8B6a_SzgbF_RVmYXZgno-gVw?e=JnU1Am ).
- The only way I have managed to solves this is to do a factor reset following a process I found online done in the DWS (Disable Auto-run / Format Storage / Factory Reset). It can take a few passes before the unit will show back up again.
- This will become a major challenge when our communications department takes over the management of the devices if they suffer these errors as they don’t have the technical know-how (or the time) to manage these errors
--EDIT ADD--
- is there a local file that contains the list of these Networked Units that can be deleted to force a re-entry?
Thank you for your help and your patience.
