BSN.Cloud - Failed To Connect

We have just purchased a license for bsn.cloud and trying to reset an XD1034 and get it connected.

I have formatted the SD card, it pops up on the screen for a split second with a QR code (no activation code) and then it seems to download something and then says failed to connect to the BSN.Cloud service 

I dont have the opportunity to activate the device on the service - what am I missing ?
