Is there such a device that can be used for program/script development so that the PC can be permanently connected to the BrightSign and the need to swap in/out the flash card is eliminated?

Is there an option to bypass the bootup tests to facilitate faster program/ script development?

Send me an email at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:support@brightsign.biz">support@brightsign.biz</a><!-- e -->. We don't have a released testing environment, but there's something that can help with testing scripts on the pc.

I'm just researching the use of BrightSign at my company.

I can't play back the presentations I'm building from within BrightAuthor?

    This can't be true.

You need to update your unit to the 3.1 firmware that's listed on the page you downloaded BrightAuthor from.

If it's still not working, I can create a sample playlist using BrightAuthor and send it to you to test on your unit.

    Hi Lyndon,

If the PC tool you mentioned above is a more recent version of the original WinBrightscript tool, could you please send it to me as well?

    Thanks.

    Cheers,

No, BrightAuthor includes functions that used to be performed by that older windows tool. That tool is still useful for HD2000s.

We haven't got a BrightSign unit. We're trying to make a purchasing decision. I don't think we're interested in any scenario where we can't preview what we're authoring on the PC where we're doing the authoring. We're also not likely to purchase a product before we can learn to author for it and determine whether or not it's simple enough for our employees to operate.

Does BrightAuthor not have a "play" button?

There is not a preview function in BrightAuthor currently. The only way to see what the content will look like is to play it back on a unit. There have been some inquiries about a preview feature, but I don't have any new information on the topic.

I'm sorry to be the voice of negativity but you're saying that for a shop to develop content for one or more of these units they'd need one additional unit and monitor just for the sake of that development.

Print ads...Flash movies...Web design...whatever I build...I can look at it on my computer monitor but not content for BrightSign?

I guess my research into your products ends rather abruptly.

The content you play on the brightsign can be viewed on the computer. What you can't currently preview is what the layout would look like. But, the images and videos are all standard files that will play on your computer.
