Odd playback

I have two 720p 4x3 MPEG2 transport stream videos that play overscanned,as if they were going to play 16x9 but the screen is 1024x768, so the video play offscreen. They are set to loop and the second time through they play correctly, in the 4x3 aspect ratio all on screen.

I encoded the videos as 480p (720x480) and they show a purple line across the bottom pixel of the screen, overscannning 720 as if 640, so not as much is offscreen.

I have other videos that I've encoded with the same settings, with Apple Compressor, and they do not exhibit the same problem.

These videos are graphic in nature, produced in Final Cut.

How are you playing back content? Are you using BrightAuthor? Or, are you just copying content directly to the flash card, with no playlist?

I would use BrightAuthor, so that you can set the video resolution you want to use on the Brightsign, and then we can check if playback still incorrect.

The purple line issue is fixed with a firmware update. I can send you a link to that release. It's not on the site yet.

I am using an autoplay.bsp file that set the resolution (videomode) to 1024x768x75p.

    I also tried viewmode 2.

I saw an update 3.1.73 on the site. The 410 players are set with 3.0.13

Updated to 3.1.73, no change. Purple line still there in 480p. Overscan first run on both still operating. EXcept now the second time through it doesn't set up the correct scan.

Did you receive the link I sent for 3.1.79? That's where the purple line fix is.

I also have the same problem, and would like a link or the firmware update for our HD1010.
