Default Selection for Interactive unit

My company just purchased the HD810 unit and in short, our set up is a home movie that is linked to 5 other movies via they keyboard action (although we're using a scanner to scan a bar code). When a bar code is scanned the appropriate movie is played. However, the unit seems to read any bar code and it always plays a movie regardless of what the input actually is. Is there a way to set up one movie as the default in case the unit reads a code that isn't assigned to any of the other ones. I did a few searched on the forum but found nothing that was related to my question. If can point me in the right direction, that would be fantastic! Thank you.

Also as a secondary question, what does the USB event do? I've tried hooking up a USB bar code scanner but nothing happens when the USB even links the movies. What I did instead is link the movies with a keyboard event but - I still read the code with the scanner but only the first digit is interpreted. Can anyone tell me how the USB event works or how I'm supposed to set it up?

    Thanks once more.

The USB event is for barcode readers, that connect over USB, keyboard wedge or HID scanners, that send clear text. I have one here that I do testing with.

If if't not working, can you configure your scanner to make sure it's sending the scanned info the correct way? I had to scan  a barcode in my manual to set my scanner to this text mode. Or, maybe, your scanner isn't sending a carriage return. Thats' a configurable option on some scanners.

How is your scanner sending input to the brightsign? The brightsign should only accept the specific input you've defined. Can you do a file save as, and send me the project so I can open it in BrightAuthor?

I'm using a standard USB bar code scanner, and I have tested with Word/Notepad - when I scan a bar code it simply shows the (numeric in this case) code that we're using. I did notice in both programs that it only inserted the numeric form of the code - no carriage return or new line after it. I think this may be the culprit. I will take a look at our scanner and make sure it's configured to send carriage returns. If this doesn't work I will send you an e-mail (can you PM me your addresss?).

    Thank you for your help,
