Bright Author software on the Mac
Are there any plans to create a version of Bright Author for OSX?
BrightAuthor does not specifically require Windows hardware - it will run fine in a Windows virtual machine as many Mac OS customers do.
Also keep in mind that a single Windows/BrightAuthor machine is usually sufficient unless you have many players or content creators.
The fact of the matter is developing a native Mac OS BrightAuthor will significantly increase our development and QA time, not to mention cost..
As others have noted you can also use BrightSign Network for basic (single-zone), HTML and template-based (BrightPlates) authoring via web browser. BrightPlates is also available separately if you don't want/need a full BrightSign Network subscription.
Additional options also exist. See this article for more details:

...There are a lot of museum's and galleries that are Apple only...
I'm a sounddesigner. I work on OSX. So does a majority of audio-artists. The company I work with for a big media-project provides multiple brightsign players for a big project. So i manage with the Pc of my daughter ;)
For an upcoming event with multiple mediaplayers, I can choose my own devices.
please consider Osx a BrightAuthor Mac interface!
I'd love a Mac version as well. Currently running a Mac for all my content creation, but then have to switch to PC. We're looking to use Brightsign to replace a lot of old mpeg2 replay units at the Natural History Museum in London, and it would make life a lot simpler for us.
Chris, are you just doing fullscreen looping playback?
Hi Support America - we have a variety of applications we are going to use the Brightsigns for, from simple loops through to more complex pushbutton and touchscreen programs. I am aware that for the simple loops you can just drag the files to the card, but the BrightAuthor is going to be used for the more advanced applications. A Mac version would be brilliant.
BrightAuthor for MAAAAAAAAAAAAAC.
I have never touched a PC before having to use BrightAuthor. Since all of my video workflow is Mac based, it is a pain to throw in a Windows based machine to complete the last 5% of my project.
Please let me know when you are in need of beta testers!
Thanks.
We would love a Mac version of Bright Author. We do all our media creation on Macs. Our vendor has been LAME on training us to use Brightsign products, but moving our files to jump drives to a PC laptop is cumbersome.
Thank you
