USB IR receivers

Hello, I was looking to setup a remote to use with my brightsign 1010 as a presentation. I have a USB wireless Keypad, but the range is not that great at all. I want to be able to use something with a greater range. I saw that their are IR USB receivers that I could get but can they be used with any Universal remote to receive inputs? -Darrin

    The iguana works transceiver can be used with other remotes since it's a 3rd party product. I can provide a script you can use to capture input from a remote, so you'll have the values received by the transceiver.
