Preload BS Unit wth large media content

I have to ship my BS 210W to locations where a tech person will plug it in and that is about all they can do. Is there any way to preload the media and content on the BS 210W's SD card when it will be using Simple Network setup on a wireless network? The location should have open wireless access so I assume the BS 210W will find the open Network via the wireless enabled (this is not stated in the manual to my knowledge) I timed the download over a wireless connection at my office with no traffic off my test server and the video media files 50 meg each downloads takes over an hour and a half. this project is a very limited budget and having to pay a technical person an added 2 hours to wait for the unit to download media is a big item for me. Can I publish a local version to the SD then over right it with a simple network with wireless? I know the hash file names could be a problem doing this? Suggestions? thanks bill

While this is supported under brightauthor 2.2 for the brightsign network, it's not for simple networking.

There is a way you might be able to get this working.

First, publish a problem to a folder on your computer, and with simple networking selected under publish. Copy these to a flash card.

Second, create setup files for simple networking, and let them run on the player. This will add some registry entries to player. Save the setup files on the same card. It overwrite some of the system files.

What should happen when you power up the unit, is it should call into your server, and not download any of the content files because they are already in the pool folder, and should match the hash keys for the files you uploaded to the server. The unit will still need to call into your server to verify nothing has changed, but once it successfully connects, and downloads the correct autorun.brs script, it should start playing.

The wifi setup assumes you're using an ssid and password. It doesn't automatically try to use an open wireless network. If you only have an open wireless network, let me check how to set that up. I've never tried using an open network with the unit.
