simple networking uploading new content

I have the brightsign networking account but as I grow some systems it will be come necessary to have some branches of my system on the simple networking option. After testing the simple networking for several hours I noticed that the publish to command creates several files and a couple folders. It appears that the folder which holds the content is called the 'pool' folder and the two files which control playback are the current-sync.xml file and the autoplay-projectname.xml file. I further notice that the files in the 'pool' folder are named and created in such a way so that updates are of content are monitored by the player and are then downloaded to the player. I'm wondering if there is a way to manually drop large video files into the folder on our web server and to manually modify the current-sync.xml file which would tell the player to download the new file and add it to the playlist. I'm trying to think of ways to prevent a person from having to re-upload large files which have already been uploaded to the server and are also playing on the player. In addition, if a video needs to be removed from the players playlist could a simple modification of the current-sync.xml be an easier way to remove a video from the playlist versus publishing another set of files and thus having to re-upload this large 'pool' folder once again. thoughts?
