controlling lights with GPIO ports

Hello, We need to control some lights with GPIO ports, but they just only give 3.3V. Do you know if there´s anyway to do it? Do you know if there are any relay wich accept this voltage? Thanks

  you should not switch a relay directly from the GPIO port.
  instead try the schematics below and use a transistor.
  (replace arduino with brightsign GPIO)

  ...somebody (Lyndon) told me that I would need a solid state relay to step up the voltage from 3.3v to something higher.
