Updating presentation without BrightAuthor

Dear Team, A customer of us want to create a presentation with BrightAuthor (2 zones, videos and pictures) and using Simple Networking. Works perfect. But he asked me if there is a way that he doesn't have to use BrightAuthor to update/ change the video. Because there are also other people that should be able to update videos and these people should not use BrightAuthor. So is there a way that they only have to upload a new video to the webserver and the Player (HD210w) download them? Kind regards

Brightauthor supports this, updates from a web server, but it requires setting up the unit with brightauthor, and then publishing an update using brightauthor.

You could also use a mediarss feed. You could setup the brightsign to download content from a media rss feed. Then, the customer could update the media rss feed using a web browser. But, you need to have the feed served from somewhere.

    Hello Lyndon,

    Thanks for you answer.

    I already use simple networking.
I have a presentation with pictures and one video on the left side.
These files are on a webserver, from where HD210 is downloading them.

Now I want to change the video file!
Is there a way that I can do that without BrightAuthor?

Do you mean that I can use an rss feed to with videos?

In one zone you can deliver content using a media rss feed. If you have two zones, you can't do both with media rss feeds. So, if it's just one zone, then yes, you could update the feed, and the player would update. Otherwise, you'd have to use a custom script to to update zones independently.

Hi, I'm new to BrightAuthor, and see that this post is from 2011. Checking to see if this will work for a project of mine and am wondering if you can now have more than one zone using media RSS feeds?

    Thanks!
