HD600 PAL video playback

I'm working with HD600 fw1.3.12 and autorun 1.1.7b.
Having trouble making compatible MPEG2 files to play in PAL mode.

I see the specs say it can only handle 720x480 for video frame size, but PAL is 720x540.

When I play NTSC videos under PAL output, I get audio sync problems and choppy playback. Audio is 16bit 48k.

Does anyone have a successful workflow for playing PAL MPEG2?

The problem was in the mpeg files.  For some reason, muxing the audio and video in MPEG Streamclip caused the files not to pay in the HD600, but were able to play in the HD2000.

I ended up encoding with Adobe media Encoder and everything is working as it should.

    Hi austinbill,

i still have the same problem (HD600 fw 1312, ar 117b).

Using large PAL-Videos --> getting audio drop outs / sync problems in it. I tried to encode it with TEmpegEnc, Xilisoft, Nero, ... always the same ???

Parameters are 576 x 720, 8 MBit (or 6 MBit) ,48 kHz Audio bitrate (MP3) but no way to get a clean video AND Audio. Always scratches and drop outs.

(The original film is on a Pal-DVD --> .vob)

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

The only time I've seen audio drops was on an HD2000 where the video had spikes in bitrate. The software was set to fixed bitrate or a max bitrate that was correct, but when the video was analyzed, there were spikes above the supported specs.

Can you upload a sample video?

The workaround was to grab and recode all the files with TMPGEnc to NTSC-Standard with lower (CBR) bitrate (4000).

    Now it works.

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you, but I'll find out what's the problem with the files you uploaded. There's no reason they shouldn't work at the higher bitrates.
