HD1010 updated but not doing anything

I have read the Quick Start guides...downloaded the demos...and even created my own playlist but nothing happens. I did get the thing to update to the current software. Any suggestions? The guides speak of the compact units having the autoplay script built in...I don't fully understand that...I have tried my script with a autoplay file and one without.

Please advise. Is there something more than copying a script? I didn't receive an SD card with my unit like it says in the literature. Should I have?

The autoplay script being in memory means you don't need to copy the autorun.brs file from the website to your flash card.

    Please try the following:

Copy some images to the flash card, with nothing else present. Then, power the unit up. The unit should autoplay your images in alphabetical order. The same is true for any files you put on the card.

--Images must be png, jpg, or bitmap, with a max resolution of 1920x1080.

--For videos, your videos must be mpeg2 transport streams, with a .ts extensions. So, any of the videos from the demos listed under the compact models should work.

You can reach me directly at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:lallydice@roku.com">lallydice@roku.com</a><!-- e -->. We can talk on the phone if that works better.

The first shipment of units went out before the guides were finalized, and the demo cards were ready. So, your units do not include a demo card.

You don't need a script on the card. You can put just the files, or you can use a playlist if you want more control over how the files playback. But, to just see how the images or videos look onscreen, all you need are the files themselves. If you did download the demos, the files from the demo go in the root of the flash card.

If you startup the unit without a flash card, does it say version 3.0.4 on the display?

Can you also send me an example of the playlist/script you used that wasn't working? Thanks.
