BrightSign HD410 5v serial input/output

Hi.
Does anyone know how to access the 5v serial output/input on the BrightSign HD410 from an autoplay.csv file. I know that you can monitor and send messages through the RS 232 serial port with the commands "serial:<string>" and "serialSend:<string>". But how do you control/monitor the 5v serial (mini jack) port?
Best regards Jakob.

Can you explain what you are trying to do? There isn't built in support for this. I did modify the autorun file for a customer to allow the 5v port to be used for sending, but not receiving.

You may need to do a custom script. Are you using both serial ports, or just the 5v.

And, are you sending and receiving strings, bytes?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I am trying to make one HD410 start playback of a video file in sync with another HD 410 - I am planning to do this with some kind of message (string or byte) through the RS 232 serial port. In addition to this, I would like to control the light in the room in sync with the video - I am thinking that this might be done by turning on/off the voltage on the 5v serial output. The 5 volts can then control a relay switching on and off the lights...

    Is this possible?

    Best regards Jakob.

Yes, this sounds possible. Can you send me an email at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:support@brightsign.biz">support@brightsign.biz</a><!-- e --> explaining in detail how this would work. I'll reply, and post an update here as well.
