HD1010 will not output over component

We have an HD1010 that will output happily over HDMI or VGA, but will not send out any signal via component. Only component is connected (ie: no VGA or HDMI.) I've cycled power. Tried with and without media inserted. No firmware splash screen over component when no card is inserted. I've tried pressing the recessed reset button (with and without power.) This unit has output component in the past but has been connected via HDMI for about a month now. Is there anything else that I can try or is it definately defective? thanks, gerry

    Have you tried setting it to a resolution that works over component, or are you just putting some content on the card and letting it autoplay?

    The resolutions that are shared by vga and hdmi (1024x768 and 1360x768) don't work over component.

    It's possible that if you are letting the unit choose automatically, it's settling on one of those two.

    I would use a playlist to force the unit to 720p or 1080i and see if you still get no picture.

    Thank you, the playlist worked to force component output. Odd because the source is a 720p file.

    The content itself is unimportant.

    When the unit boots it queries the display if there's no explicit resolution set. The display might not respond, or the response might not be what you think the ideal resolution should be. In this case it seems the default resolution they were using was probably 1024x768 or 1360x768. Both are active over HDMI and VGA, but not component.
