SD card filling to capacity with log files?

I'm in the process of deploying 26 HD1010's throughout our school district. We've got one of them set up as a test/development unit, used for creating and testing presentations. It recently stopped displaying video; I found that the SD card was filled to capacity, mostly used up by the "pool" directory having a bunch of files with names like "sha1-0a4b69.......". The unit had been in use for about 2 months. This was only a 128MB card (we had a few laying around that came with some cameras we purchased); the pool directory was about 121MB by itself. The deployed units are getting 2GB cards. All units, including the test unit, are set up to be updated via simple file networking. Is this some sort of log file? Is it self-limiting, i.e. deletes files over 90 days old? If so, I suppose the larger capacity cards will cure the problem. If not, can this be disabled? I don't want to have to make a visit to every unit periodically to clear out old accumulated log files.

No that's your content renamed by its hash key. And, the unit auto deletes when it runs out of space. This wouldn't cause playback to fail.

Hmmm, OK. Once I found the card was full, I just assumed that might have caused the error so I deleted everything on the card and recreated the setup files for that unit; rebooted with the recreated card and it's running fine now, so I assumed the filled card was the culprit.

Hopefully it won't happen again, but if it does, I suppose it'd be a good idea to hang on to all files on the SD card for debugging purposes.....
