BSY Light

My BS 210 is working fine. I just wanted to know what the "BSY" Led signifies? I notice it blinks a lot. Is this due to reading files from the SD card? Is it active rendering the videos? Doing house keeping? I ask since I just upgraded from Final Cut Express to Final Cut Pro. I was using a 3rd party tool to convert the QT MOV files to MPEG-2 when using FCexpress. Most of the 30 second videos files mpeg-2 were 12-16 meg. After using FCP compressor to output files in compressor settings: " MPEG-2 Program Stream" from same QT MOV files. The mpeg-2 files are 50meg in size. Will these larger files slow down the BS 210W display. I have not notice any difference in video playback. But if I can reduce the files sizes it help the download times over the internet. thanks bill

Activity, any reads or writes to the cards causes the bsy to flash. So, only when the flash card is being actively used.

No, larger files don't make the unit slower. They just take up more space.

If these are h.264 mov files, there are utilities like tsmuxer or vlcmedia player that can change the encapsulation from mov to ts, without re-encoding the video, so it takes seconds. Those h.264 transport streams will play on the brightsign.
