Simple Networking to BSN migration

Hi, We currently have a number of HD210s in remote locations, and we are considering migrating to the Brightsign Network. What is the migation path for that. I assume we can just use the setup new device option put the data that would reside on the card onto our webserver, then when the devices get the update, they will be pointed to the BSN server. Am I right? Do you anticipate any problems? Thanks Nathan

No, you can't do it that way. At least, not with brightauthor alone.

You need to send out aflash card with setup files for the brighsign network. YOu can also send just the setup files, for someone to download and copy to the existing flash card.

If this is really not possible, one thing we could test is creating a custom autorun script, that manually downloads the autorun.brs and current-sync that xml that goes with the brightsign network setup from a folder on your server, and then force a restart. I think the first two choices are the best way to go.

    But we might try:

publishing a custom autorun with a brightauthor project
--this autorun grabs the new setup files
    --this autorun reboots when finishe
--the setup autorun runs after the reboot

    Interesting,

Thanks for the reply. This could be a good script for Brightsign to make, if only because it might get a few new subscriptions, too.  <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

We might just send out cards, but I prefer to keep this stuff out of the end users hands.

    Thanks
