How is BA know to not publish media item on SImple Net

How is BA determine a media item has not changed and is not republished in Simple Network? Is it the file size, time stamp on file or folder location? Example If I have a video in a folder called BSVideo and publish the presentation the first time BS will publish this media content. If I publish this sample media file from a different folder location on my hard drive will BA think it is a different media item am generate a nothing publish of this item? Second When publishing the Simple Network You get the pop up to Copy/Replace or do not copy. Why is BA trying to republish items that have not changed? (Example the font file ) I have to select the do not copy check box every time? This is why I ask the question on how BA determines a media item has changed from last published cycle? thanks

BA makes no such determination. When you publish something, it always tries to republish everything. You get the choice of replacing video content when you publish. It's up to you to decide if you want to replace videos that have the same name when you publish.

The only time brightauthor does nay kind of comparison is wh en uploading content to a brightsign network account.
