Local Networking...Fantastic improvement

Congratulations, The ability to publish by writing directly to the Brightsign boxes is a great feature on Brightauthor 2.3 I have been installing it on all our museum clients LANs. No bugs or issues so far.

Yep - loving the stream of new features, it's great.

I'm having some issues with the detection of units via Bonjour however.  It seems to work at first, then all the devices disappear after moving to a different tab within brightauthor.

If I add the devices manually via IP, I can view them (which is an acceptable workaround for the time being), and it's great being able to see their current status/uptime etc.  Staff here are finding it a bit simpler than the Simple file networking.

But I'd like to work out why the automatic detection isn't working.  OS is Win 7 Pro.  Windows firewall is managed by Symantec Endpoint protection, but disabling it doesn't seem to help.  I've tested from an XP Pro box as well, but no joy.

    Any suggestions?

The units consistently go away when you leave the publish tab and go back? The first time. I Know there's a not responding bug we're tracking where when you go to publlish, brightauthor sometimes doesn't respond when trying to discover the units again. But, in testing, the units normally refresh when you return to the publish tab. Send me an email at support at brightsign.biz, and I'll send you an updated version of the beta to test.

I had another look at this, and I don't appear to be able to detect the units at all now.  Tried on two different PCs.  I can add them fine by specifying the IP, and the status updates correctly.

However Bonjour appears to be working - I can detect 10 or so printers if I start the Bonjour printer wizard...
