Display images with transparency over video?

Hi,

Can an image with transparency be displayed over motion video? I have a script with pop-up volume controls that are available during motion video. It works great using text widgets; however the client is asking for graphic symbols in place of text.

Can I display a jpg with transparency over the video zone? I would need to seamlessly turn this image zone on and off while the full-screen video zone is playing behind it. The end result is to have it appear that a few buttons are popping up over the video while it continues playing.

Is there another technique to to achieve this that I am missing?

    You can do a png with transparency over a video. I'm not sure if there would be a hiccup if you called a stop in the image zone, but you could also use an image that was all transparent as your next image to display, if stopping the image zone causes any hiccups.

    Hi Again,



    Just a quick follow-up.  This appears to be working well.  Lyndon, your tip about using an invisible png as opposed to turning the image zone off does indeed help to smooth the transition.  This technique also worked to clear up some slight artifacts i was seeing in other image transitions.  Thanks.
