HD600 needed

We are in need of 1 or 2 HD600s. No one at ROKU sales seems interested in even replying to my email messages. If anyone here has one in good shape they would like to sell, please contact me at macp@pacific-studio.com. Thanks, -Mac

    Mac,

I'll check on this. I believe we're out of HD600s. Can you tell me what hd600 specific features you needed? I know they have the multiple audio outputs? Or, the composite output?

We need the ability to drive a 640x480x60p VGA monitor.  A return or B-stock is fine, just needs to work.

    Thanks,

If you're not tied to an HD600, you can do that with one of the newer units, and If I recall correctly, they are less expensive than the HD600. I'll check if we have any. I don't think we do.

I wish the new units could do that, but they won't.  Apparently supporting non-widescreen or (relatively) low-resolution displays was not a design objective.  One possibility we are looking at is using the converter box to get to composite and converting that to VGA.  We are also researching other manufacturers units.

    Thanks,

If you have the newer firmware you can do 640x480 over vga. It can't go straight to composite like the HD600, but it will do 640x480x60p. This is the list of resolutions from the object reference guide. The same list should be in the user's guide:

    “autoâ€
    • “640x480x60pâ€
    • “800x600x75pâ€
    • “1024x768x75pâ€
    • “1360x768x60pâ€
    • “720x576x50pâ€
    • “720x480x60pâ€
    • “1280x720x50pâ€
    • “1280x720x59.94pâ€
    • “1280x720x60pâ€
    • “1920x1080x50iâ€
    • “1920x1080x59.94iâ€
    • “1920x1080x60iâ€
    • “1920x1080x29.97pâ€
    • “1920x1080x50pâ€
    • “1920x1080x60pâ€

We also added 1280x800 and 1280x768 in a beta release as well.

The units can't do 480i, but they can do what you're looking for unless I'm misunderstanding.

OK, I'll install the beta firmware and give it another try.  The user guide posted applies to 3.01 and only lists two VGA modes.  I had not looked at the object reference guide, which appears to cover the beta firmware.

    Thanks again,

Installing the beta firmware did the trick.  The player now accepts 640x480x60p as a valid resolution.
Thanks for your help, order to follow shortly.
