Controlling interactivity in BrightSign products

I have a new application and am trying to see whether BrightSign products can be used. I shall have a HD video, let's call it number 1 playing in a loop. When someone approaches the monitor they will trigger a PIR and this will cause Video number 2 to play. Video number 2 cannot be interrupted. When Video 2 finishes Video 1 plays. If there is a trigger from the PIR whilst Video 1 is in the middle of a paragraph, Video 2 will not start until that paragraph is finished. Both Videos needs two controlled outputs to turn on and off lights and a smoke machine. I can split Video 1 into multiple videos, played in sequence, those which can be interrupted and those which cannot, if this makes it easier. Can anyone help me?

How do you know if video 1 is in the middle of a paragragh? If you break it up into sequences that are interruptable vs ones that aren't then it's easy to do in brightauthor.

Otherwise, we'd need to know what time periods of the video are interruptable and which aren't so the PIR input could be ignored if it wasn't in the correct place.

    Thanks Lyndon,

So now if a trigger input level change happens during a non-interruptible video and the script moves on to an interrupible video will it respond to the trigger or does it need a new level change? Do you know whether there is any information, giving this sort of detail, available on the web?

    Thanks for your help,

At brightsign.biz, under the video tutorials, there's a video on interactive playback. I can also forward you a draft of the user's guide for BrightAuthor.

I can't recall if either goes into as detailed an explanation as you need for interactivity. Please send me an email at support@brightsign.biz. If it would help, I can give you a call to explain how it needs to work.
