Video plays faster on BrightSign than on my computer

I have a .ts file that plays at around twice the speed on my BrightSign HD210 than on my computer. How can I solve this problem? I have nothing else on the card other than the .ts file. The file is 640X480 29.97fps. thanks.

    I've only seen this happen with mpeg elementary stream videos which we don't support.

    well it is happening with a Transport Stream.

    We've bought 50 BrightSign players. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

    I need a sample file. It's always been an encoding issue. Please upload here. Are these files you are encoding yourself?

    thanks.

    i'm having the same problem with a 1080i program stream, no sound and looping with this script:
    <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.roku.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=21336&p=170181&hilit=loop#p170167">viewtopic.php?f=19&t=21336&p=170181&hilit=loop#p170167</a><!-- l -->

    it plays fast significantly faster than the ts file does on the computer.

    The file has been made with compressor as per the instruction in the manual here
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.brightsign.biz/documents/HDCompact_UsersGuide.pdf">http://www.brightsign.biz/documents/HDC ... sGuide.pdf</a><!-- m -->

    The stats are:
    video format: HD 1920x1080
    frame rate: 25
    Aspect 16:9
    Field dominance: top first

    For the fast video, you're both having the same problem. YOu are using an mpeg elementary stream. These aren't supported. Some applicationes generate an elementary stream when you create an mpeg with no audio. You need an mpeg program stream or transport stream. You can use a simple utility like womble's mpeg2vcr to change the type from elementary to program or transport stream.

    Or, you can add a silent audio layer to your export and your software would make it a program stream.

    Mpeg elementary streams play faster than normal if the frame rate of the video is less than the refresh rate of the output setting. So, your 25fps video will play fast when played at a resolution of 60p or 75p, for example.

    so is there no way of doing this with compressor (shame if not) I am selecting program stream, but I have to untick the audio in the 'extras' tab or the video wont loop seamlessly - and looping seamlessly is very important.

    By the way i did try it without unchecking the audio thing and the speed issue is resolved. Just trying out the womble software now. Let me know if there is a way of looping and keeping it program stream with compressor if i'm missing something.

    I'm not very familiar with compressor, but there must be some way of forcing a transport stream or program stream even with no audio.

    Compressor can't create an H.264 Transport Stream (.ts) file by itself. I use Compressor to create non-audio H.264 Quicktime files. I then use tsMuxer to convert the .MOV file to .TS. Sometimes it is necessary to extract just the video file using QuickTime Pro before loading the .MOV files into tsMuxer.  I have outlined the workflow on the post "H.264 workflow discovered for Final Cut / Motion"

    We had a similar (playback speed) issue with video that was part of a 4 panel video wall. Two video files had an audio track and the other two didn't. All files were encoded the same (as MPEG-2 TS.)  The two without audio tracks ran fast.  I added a silent audio track to those clips (in Final Cut Pro) and re-encoded. The new files played properly.

    we had an instance of this, and it turned out to be a case of the card not being written perfectly when the .ts file was copied from the hard-disk to the flash card.

    Also, an incredibly valuable tool I've been using -- a lot! -- is MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5.  It's available for PC and Mac, and is free, and is great for making .TS files after Compressor makes your MPEG file.
