BrightSign HD810 GPIO ports and PC Communication

Hi all, I was asking about how BrightSign HD810 communicates with a PC via RS232 from the other thread: http://forums.roku.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=32556&start=0 . and got the answer to my questions that it is possible to: 1. the PC sends a command with a video name (can be in any format) to BrightSign via RS-232 port. 2. once BrightSign has received the command, it'll start playing the questioned video. 3. While BrightSign is playing any video, it'll send information about the video being played back to the connected PC via RS-232 port each 300 millisecond. However, the problem is that because the customers want to place BrightSign in a location that is 80 meters far from a PC, and that is not possible to use such a long cable for RS232, right? My question might seem really silly but I really need to clarify this. So my question is: Is it possible to: 1. the PC sends a command with a video file name string to BrightSign via the GPIO port. 2. once BrightSign has received the command, it'll start playing the questioned video. 3. While BrightSign is playing any video, it'll send information about the video being played back to the connected PC via the GPIO port each 300 millisecond. Since we are under pressure to get this project done within a very limited time, It'll be really nice and helpful if anyone could help clarifying this question as soon as possible. One more question is: What is the max. cable length when using GPIO port? Thanks a lot in advance, Soulivanh
